Imari-Shuffle, in 2005, Peter Ting worked on a pilot project with Royal Crown Derby, creating a small collection of one off plates using all the motifs within the vocabulary of the RCD’s DNA. In 2006, Ting launched the ‘shuffle’ series. These plates present a ‘mixed’ images of the RCD motifs, not unlike a DJ mixing ‘sounds’ to create a brand new expression. Shuffle works singularly, but they can be grouped to form a beautiful cohesive installation.
