Hue Line & Form, 2007. Sarah Edwards, CEO of Contemporary Applied Arts, commissioned Brian Kennedy and Peter Ting of briing to curate this exhibition. Exploring the fact that an object has a different life when
it leaves the gallery and arrives to it’s new home. Kennedy and Ting transformed the traditional “white box” gallery, by means of colour, divisions and groupings to conjure and reference domestic space. 59 makers
were selected from the CAA’s membership list, ranging from the traditional to the cutting edge. It was important to show however familiar or challenging the object, by placing them in certain situations can either highlight the ordinary or be inclusive of the avant-garde.
